The Australian Institute for Disaster Resilience (AIDR) develops, maintains and shares knowledge and learning to support a disaster resilient Australia.
AIDR is a consortium funded by the Department of Home Affairs and managed by AFAC, with the Australian Red Cross and the Bushfire & Natural Hazards Cooperative Research Centre as partners. Building on extensive knowledge and experience in Australia and internationally, we work with government, communities, NGOs, not-for-profits, research organisations, education partners and the private sector to enhance disaster resilience through innovative thinking, professional development and knowledge sharing.
Visit our website to explore the Knowledge Hub, the Australian Disaster Resilience Handbook Collection and Australian Journal of Emergency Management online. Learn more about professional development opportunities and scholarships for emergency management volunteers.
This year, AIDR will host the Australian Disaster Resilience Conference, which will run as a single stream conference concurrently with the AFAC20 program. AFAC20 delegates will have the opportunity to attend sessions in the stream as part of their conference registration.
AIDR is proud to sponsor the Knowledge Centre at the AFAC20 powered by INTERSCHUTZ exhibition, sharing the latest in knowledge generated from research and projects occurring across the emergency management sector.
