ARRO is the peak body in Australasia for the development of knowledge and skills in road crash rescue (RCR). ARRO represents Australasia at the World Rescue Organisation (WRO).
The vision of the WRO is to create a global rescue environment where any person involved in an entrapment anywhere in the world will be rescued and medically cared for using best practices that are safe, effective and efficient, therefore maximising survival and recovery rates.
Through its involvement in RCR challenges and knowledge of the latest technologies, ARRO strives to improve the science and quality of rescue services provided to casualties and, therefore, a reduction in the severity of injuries.
ARRO is a membership-based organisation relying on the financial support of members (individuals and agencies) and sponsors to exist. All members of the Management Committees and the Challenge Management Team volunteer their time, knowledge and experience to assist in achieving the organisation’s goals.
ARRO in partnership with a host agency runs an annual four-day rescue challenge and associated learning symposium and workshops.
ARRO’s Rescue Challenges have set world best practice standards thanks to the excellent support and sponsorship from FRSA/Holmatro and PT (Lukas) Hydraulics and support from our partner, Pac Fire Australia.
