Bluemont / Hytrans delivers long-distance water again and again and…
The demand for water during the past bush fire season was immense.
The Hytrans HS150 fire brigade system as used by Fire and Rescue NSW known as the Bulk Water Transfer System, provided continuous high volume water supply and fast tanker refill capability to fire appliances at Wisemans Ferry, Spencers Creek. Shortly after the Hytrans HS150 hook-lift skid was deployed for 9 days straight at the Eden woodchip mill fire. Accessing the seawater from the wharf, the unit provided a continuous flow of seawater to soak the huge mounds of woodchips.
Directly after the bushfires the floods started and the Hytrans unit was deployed to Lismore, Coffs Harbour, Byron Bay and other flood-affected locations to pump out high volumes of floodwater.
The year was also busy for the CFA, where the Scoresby Hytrans hose layer attended a waste facility, peat and multiple other fires, providing a continuous high volume of water from hydrants and water mains for many fire grounds.
